Project’s journey into schools: recycling and a passion for industry

March and April were busy, colourful and energetic months for us at Project For Building!
To mark Global Recycling Day and Earth Day, we stepped outside our offices and production facilities to bring our vision of the circular economy to where the future truly begins: the classroom.
It was an exciting journey that gave us the opportunity to meet children, young people and future professionals. Here is the story of these special experiences.
From small actions to big projects: together with Adrara San Martino Primary School
It all starts with a plastic bottle cap.
Together with Giada, we visited the students of Alessandro Manzoni Primary School in Adrara San Martino (BG).
It was incredible to see the curiosity in their eyes as we showed them how the plastic bottle caps they carefully collect at home or at school make their way to us at Project to be transformed.
We brought along samples of virgin and recycled plastic: being able to touch and compare the materials made a concept that can often seem abstract much more tangible.
Teaching children that waste is actually a valuable resource is the first step towards building an authentic culture of recycling.
Legami CoValenti: the chemistry that brings schools and businesses together
A project promoted by Confindustria Bergamo
With older students, we spoke the language of innovation. Thanks to Legami CoValenti, a project promoted by Confindustria Bergamo, we opened the doors of our company to those who may be shaping the future of industry ten years from now.
It was more than just a tour of our production facilities. With class 3ª AC from the Marconi Institute in Dalmine, specialising in Chemistry and Materials, our engineer Alessandro shared Project’s vision and work on polymers, material properties and industrial recycling.
Watching the students explore our quality control processes and production organisation reminded us why we love what we do: sharing the methods and sense of responsibility required to transform recycled plastic into high-quality technical products.
We hope this passion can plant a small seed for their future projects.
Beyond production: the value of transparency with future accountants
The final stage of our journey involved a fourth-year class from a technical business institute.
Here, the focus was twofold:
In the production area: to see the production cycle in action.
In the office: to discover the “behind the scenes” of business management.
We discussed financial statements and the Project For Building Sustainability Report, explaining that the circular economy is not only a technical process, but also a transparent and responsible business model.
Showing how environmental values translate into data and official documents helped the students understand that sustainability is a fundamental pillar of every modern business.
Sustainability is not a pose
For us at Project, sustainability is not a slogan, but the result of research, method and industrial responsibility. Bringing students into our production facilities means showing them that the circular economy is a complex challenge built on expertise and passion, not simply words.
Our thanks go to Confindustria Bergamo for its continued support, to the teachers who believe in dialogue between schools and businesses and, above all, to all the students: your curiosity drives us to keep innovating.
