DRAIN FLOOR – plastic element for water management and green roofs

Drain Floor is an element made of recycled plastic, designed to meet the two fundamental requirements of green roofs: proper irrigation management and root protection.

The element consists of 26 water reservoirs per m2, which also serve as support bases, and 144 holes per m2 that allows excess water to drain while ensuring sufficient irrigation, thus promoting optimal plant growth.

The holes of Drain Floor feature a circular crown designed to create the best possible water regime beneath the vegetation. This ensures that the reservoirs fill quickly even with light watering and/or low rainfall.

Its special design creates a 6 cm air chamber that separates and protects the waterproofing membrane, extending its durability over time.

RESISTANT TO FERTILIZERS AND PESTICIDES

Made of polyproplylene, Drain Floor is completely resistant to fertilizers and pesticides.

LONGER WATERPROOFING DURABILITY

Its shape creates a 6 cm air chamber that separates and protects the waterproofing layer, significantly increasing its lifespan.

HIGH COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH

Drain Floor has excellent resistance to compression, supporting significant soil loads and allowing the transit of small machinery during installation. With 40 cm of soil coverage, it can withstand the passage of light vehicles.

Supply and installation of Drain Floor elements in recycled polypropylene for the protection of waterproofing membranes with drainage and water storage function, for the construction of green roofs.

Element dimensions: 60 × 80 cm, height 6 cm.
Each element shall include 26 water reservoirs per m² with a storage capacity of 5 l/m².
Support bases must ensure a compressive strength of at least 5000 kg/m², while the smooth surface protects the waterproofing layer.
Excess water drainage is ensured by 144 holes/m², equal to a draining surface of 1143 cm²/m².
Thermal stability between –21°C and +53°C.

Installation shall be carried out directly on the waterproofing membrane, or on a 0.20 mm polyethylene anti-root sheet (optional). Elements can be cut with a standard saw or electric blade.

A 0.5 mm thick HDPE dimpled membrane will be applied on vertical upturns for protection.
A polyester or polypropylene non-woven fabric of adequate weight, with high mechanical resistance and water permeability, will be laid over the panel to prevent clogging of the storage reservoirs by the soil.

The Drain Floor element shall be supplied with a Certificate of Conformity, certifying the percentage of recycled plastic used (Second Life Plastic certification), compliant with CAM requirements. It shall be manufactured by a company certified UNI EN ISO 9001 (Quality), UNI EN ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Safety).
