Green Parking: grass protection grid for driveable and walkable areas

Green Parking is a modular element made of recycled plastic that solves a delicate issue in outdoor design: making a surface driveable without losing permeability, ground continuity or landscape quality.
By transforming grass into a technical surface, Green Parking is the grid capable of supporting vehicle traffic and parking, including heavy vehicles, while preserving the vital functions of the soil.
The honeycomb design distributes loads evenly, prevents soil compaction and preserves the root system, allowing the grass surface to develop evenly and remain stable over time.
From a material standpoint, Green Parking is made from recycled plastic regenerated in-house by Project For Building. This means full control over the supply chain, consistent performance, and a choice that is both ecological and engineering-driven.
The material is rot-proof, resistant to chemical agents present in the soil, and does not degrade even under severe environmental conditions.
What Green Parking is and how the grass protection grid works
Green Parking is a permeable technical surface, an essential element when designing parking areas, driveable routes, stopping areas and outdoor spaces. It is a practical solution for managing the behaviour of soil, water and greenery over time.
With the grass protection grid, more than 90% of the surface remains draining, allowing rainwater to infiltrate naturally and significantly reducing mud, water stagnation and surface runoff.
Green Parking installation scheme
Inside the structure there is a water channel system that allows a small water reserve to be stored and gradually released.
The element and its interlocking structure support grass growth and keep the surface usable in all seasons, even in the event of intense weather conditions such as UV exposure and winter frost.
During the summer months, the absence of sealed surfaces reduces the overheating effect typically associated with asphalt or concrete, improving the environmental comfort of outdoor spaces.
Installing Green Parking: functional and flexible
he compact size of the elements (40x40 cm) and the possibility to choose their weight (light/heavy) allow for precise installation that can be adapted to complex geometries, irregular surfaces or constrained contexts.
The interlocking system allows you to:
- work with continuity
- reduce waste
- fill with grass or gravel (in the light version)
- facilitate integration with kerbs, trees and existing infrastructure.

You can also use Green Parking on a temporary basis, for example on existing lawns for events, equipped areas or seasonal surfaces. It is a flexible solution that can be removed and repositioned without compromising the ground.
In the presence of sloping surfaces, the design requires careful attention: the correct assessment of the adhesion coefficient and the use of locking elements become an integral part of the technical solution.
Green Parking is in fact a design tool to be consciously integrated into the context.
For this reason, our technical support office is fully available to assist you with the project configuration and installation of the grass protection grid.
Recycled plastic and performance: an engineering choice
In many projects, planning constraints require certain surfaces to remain green areas. Green Parking makes it possible to turn these areas into highly functional surfaces without departing from regulatory requirements and without sacrificing soil permeability.
It is a solution that meets CAM Building Requirements and the increasingly frequent demands of sustainable urban drainage. This gives you the possibility to combine mechanical performance, water management and environmental quality in a single system.
Innovative solutions and a shared passion for the work we do
At Project For Building, every solution is the result of continuous research and constant dialogue with designers.
Our technicians start from the real problems found on construction sites to develop systems that improve building performance from a functional, environmental and construction perspective.
Green Parking is also an element that reflects our vision: applied innovation, attention to detail and concrete support for designers.
We work with care and enthusiasm so that every technical choice becomes a step forward towards a more efficient and sustainable way of building, supported by an efficient logistics network and a team ready to assist you.
And not only in words: you can also verify our commitment in the Sustainability Report, a document that carries us into the future with pride.
